Fiction Begets Fiction

I have noticed a trend in media. It is a trend of weakness and cowardice. Fiction brings along more fiction with fictitious arguments.

Allow me to explain.

When the announcement of the new game Dragon Age: The Veilguard was released, they headlined the announcement with the game directors quote of “inclusivity being at the heart of development”. They gave their ‘cherry-on-top’ crowning achievement that in the character customization screen you have access to things like pronouns, mixed voices, and wait for it…..top surgery scars.  Immediately all the rational and normal people spoke out about how ridiculous that is and how we “just want a good game”.

The pronoun police came straight at the throats of anyone making that argument saying that “it’s a fictional world and it doesn’t hurt you so why do you care, you bigot!” The funniest part of this is that they can’t (or won’t) see the dichotomy of that statement to their shattered and faulty world view. They have spent so much time living in this fantasy world that they no longer possess the ability to look around them and see the reality of life. And we allowed it. Make no mistake, this has absolutely nothing to do with controlling people’s speech, this has everything to do with us relinquishing the responsibility we have as individuals to foster a good and functioning society.

This group has spent so much time coming at other people’s worldviews without the slightest examination of the realities of life. Men can’t be women.  Women can’t be men. “Non-binary” is not a thing. And yes, there are only two genders. Much to the chagrin of this built-on-sand culture, real life is not inclusive.

However, the developers of this game have stated time and time again that the heart of development was inclusivity and being inclusive to things in real life that are entirely fictional. Yet no one on that side of the aisle can look into the face of reality and see that this fictional world is built around real world ideology and the inherently contradictory worldviews that they inhabit. So what that it’s an optional thing for the player? The intent was open and honest; to push their propaganda. “The message” reigns supreme and YOU are a bigot for speaking against it.

Above all else, we have replaced individual responsibility with individualism. Your identity can now trump your responsibility to your fellow person and the order of life. You can use it as favor, as privilege, as an excuse. We have allowed a cultural shift that looks into the face of nature and God and says “I know more than you and I can do it better.”

Fiction begets fiction because those of us who live in reality have allowed it. We have made our bed and so many have chosen to lie in it rather than risk offense, all on the basis of “they’re not harming anyone.” However, back in reality, every single piece of research proves that it is catastrophic on pediatric development, quality of life, suicide rates, and so much more.

Fiction begets fiction because it allows people to twist the definitions of words and alter the use of language to make the world fit their life and their narratives, and those people pour out these lies within good and wholesome mediums. Movies, music, games and so many other facets of life that were intended to be used to propagate good have been turned into demonic tools for the propaganda of a failing culture. All because we have allowed a vocal minority to turn fiction into reality.

The arguments for this falsified way of life are never grounded in any reality which means that if you do try to speak out, you are playing a losing game. The game is rigged from the start which means you cannot rely on emotion but solely and wholly on fact, reality and faith. Those are the tools that we have been given to save a drowning society and, regardless of the outcome, it is what we are meant and destined to do. Affect real positive change. Bring people back to reality. You have a whole new generation to save.
